About

I grew up in the small military town of Mhow in West-Central India. After graduating from high school in 2012, I pursued a double major in Physics (M. Sc.) and Electrical & Electronics (B.Engg.) from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. As a part of my double major, I got to spend two consecutive summers working at the Physical Research Laboratory of the Indian government, and at the Centre for Astrophysics, Harvard, where I worked on research in high energy astrophysics with Kuljeet Marhas (PRL), and Paul Plucinsky, Terrance Gaetz and Vinay Kashyap (CfA). During this time, I also pursued my bachelor's and master's theses towards fulfilling the requirements for my degrees at the Australian National University and the University of Exeter, thanks to the off-campus thesis program at BITS. At the ANU, I worked with Christoph Federrath and Elisabete da Cunha on using exquisite ALMA data of high-redshift galaxies to test star formation theories. At the University of Exeter, I worked with Sean Matt and Louis Amard on modeling the viscous evolution of accretion discs around pre-main sequence stars. Some of these works have resulted in strong long term collaborations, and I have continued to work on them during my PhD.

I decided to come back to ANU in October 2018 after my graduation from BITS, and was fortunately offered the Australian Government Research Training Program (International) scholarship to pursue a PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics at the university's Mount Stromlo Observatory. I work on the role of metals from molecular clouds to galactic discs with Mark Krumholz, Christoph Federrath, Emily Wisnioski and Elisabete da Cunha.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing badminton, going for road trips, and binging content on Netflix.
